Missing Puerto Ricans Network

Committed to our role as facilitators as an international organization that advocates for children’s rights and protects this most vulnerable population, in August 2006 in alliance with Save the Children and the Police Department in Puerto Rico, we launched the portal
www.puertorriquenosdesaparecidos.org.

The aforementioned website serves as a vital tool to protect missing persons, especially children. It allows government officials and society to inform about children or adults that are currently victims of sexual, commercial or labor exploitation, pornography or disappearances as a consequence of chats with strangers in the Internet.

Serving as a liaison between Save the Children and the Police Department in Puerto Rico, the RMF was able to integrate Puerto Rico to the Latin American Network for Missing Persons. The Organization of American Estates also supports this effort. Currently Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Peru, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Chile, Bolivia and Belize constitute the network to combat among borders this modern form of slavery.  In the American continent, 3000 children disappear each day.
